breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

The title of this thread is very apt, this is the scene caused by Storm Dennis. I live on the border of Hampshire & Dorset, right along the edge of the New Forest. We're not white van man friendly around here.

 Meh, that'll polish out. I'm most disappointed because we've felt nothing of Dennis' impact in these parts. :( I Could have used some rain for the large vessel in the garden that provides the flushing water for the WCs in the house, now I'll start to regret having volunteered for the newfangled water meter pilot scheme that the government has decided to try out hereabouts. The ba$74rd5!

It's a funny thing, but most of the collisions on the roads around here seem to involve courier vans these days and of these, the majority appear to be down to DPD, though Hermes may be as likely to be involved, but we'll never know as they use smaller cars, not vans outside of the cities, and who'd even notice if yet another modern SUV was found upside down in a dyke?

I was / am, but maybe that's not quite what I had in mind, though when did that ever get in the way? It's not that long since I wanted a plastic taxi but ended up buying a very tiny 4x4 instead so anything's possible.
