GAD sir that is nice. I looked at one the other day and it appeared ok but I couldn't help wondering if when all the panels where stripped off it would be like the Invisible Man removing his bandages.

I assure you that any expressions of stress and associated expletives are the genuine article.
There are 10 shows altogether in the series, with cars ranging in date from 1928 to 1986
Let me know what you think of it.
All the best,
Fuzz Townshend
I like the Fuzz show - which does show the finer details of the repairs and restorations

Well, Phil and Fuzz, I've just discovered this programme and watched all the episodes in just 2 days, which probably says it all. At the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I would like to see more in depth technical stuff and less false jeopardy. And before you insist there is none, how come every family independently decided that the deadline for the car's return is 3 weeks?

Fuzz is a gentleman and a star: maybe he could do the voice-overs and avoid the usual "This 'uns a right old banger and no mistake" approach currently used! Maybe you could use as a model "Grand Designs" which makes no concessions to the intelligence of its viewers, avoids made-up deadlines and avoids "set-up" comedy - but is now in its 12th successful season! The interaction between the two stars should provide enough natural humour. Nonetheless, a great programme and congratulations on the commissioning of a new season. How you will keep Tim and Fuzz undercover if the show becomes too popular?
A suggestion: "Have I got News for You" has a repeat called "Have I got more news for you" with extra content. A "MORE CAR SOS" director's cut for the enthusiasts?
And just to show I have my enthusiast's anorak firmly in place, during the Elan finale, at 44:18, that is not Tony's hardtop Elan - they have edited in a shot of the yellow soft-top from earlier in the film! And the Anglia "notebook guide graphics" picture showed an intriguing setup with leaf springs all round!

Was wondering that myself this morning. It's a small world, and word has gotten out. Disguises may have to be adopted.

I think that was the prototype Anglia that was used for the ghosted image. It made a lot common sense in using semi elliptic springs front and rear. By attaching the track control arms to the semi elliptic springs springing was very progressive as the leaves in the spring were subject to torsional loads as the track control are moved through an arc and the spring had a variable spring rate as the leaves bent and twisted under torsional force. Very advanced in it's time but it was a toss up between the reversed angle rear window or the advanced front suspension. The widow got the vote.
I must watch the Lotus one again as I didn't spot the rag top appearing as the plastic top.
The owner was only on site I think twice for the pick up in Series 1 so Tim and Fuzz could still do the pick up. Candid Camera managed for several years using the same presenters without being sussed.

Overhaulin' use the same presenters all the time although they do "steal" the cars. Silly disguises all the way!

Er, Terry, isn't that Classic Car Rescue you're thinking of there? If Phil and/or Fuzz decide to sue for defamation, just tell their lawyers that deaf African angels made you write that.
