Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
I've seen a few recently. A series 1 E type in red on the M1 on Monday (I was on the way home from Northumberland in the Ami), then on the same journey on the M42, a white V12 E type on a trailer. Then on Tuesday I saw a yellow Spitfire in Hereford and a Triumph Herald convertible in Ross on Wye. The irritating thing about all these was that I gave each and every one of the drivers a cheery wave and they all looked straight through me. Must have been jealous of my much rarer and much cooler classic.

Oh, and millions and millions of those bloody middle class pretend surf dude Jamie Oliver VW bus things. They get a wave from the Ami too, being fellow air cooled travellers, but the drivers always seem to be a bit too far up their own arses to wave back. Tossers.

Please don't stop waving, RT. We aren't all up our own arse.
There's a bloke in the next village from me who is still using an Ami Estate as a daily driver. I do live in France though...

Found 3 interesting cars lately. Firstly a Bond Mark G with a Villiers bike engine in. Its at the garage we get our classic MOT's done but i'd never noticed it until the undergrowth subsided last winter.

Slightly newer, but have been sitting on the side of the road in a village near me in South West Wales for a long time now, a Renault Alpine A610..aren't these valuable?

And an E36 BMW M3 in front of it, i'd love this car.

And am I alone in thinking that a Morris Minor bonnet would look quite good on a Bond of that type?

More like the owner is on "Holiday" because he was found with a body or a large sack of recreational substances in the boot?JPB wrote:Not sure which I find the more surprising there; the Alpine or the M3 having fallen into apparent neglect. That M3 can't be more than a few years old, can it? Maybe there's a body or a large sack of dope in the boot.

Landrovers and Welding go together like Bread and Butter. And in the wet they are about as structurally sound
Biting. It's like kissing except there's a winner

A red Herald convertible did a three point turn just up from the shop earlier today. Forty years ago I doubt I'd have noticed but today I went out for a look.

Must be one heck of a narrow road if a Herald couldn't make it in one go!
I spied a rather nice E Type today. At least I thought that it was an E Type until I got closer but then I noticed that it was one of those Cortina-based replicas from the '80s that are about the right shape, but are, to put it as politely as is humanly possible; Cortina-sized so don't look quite as svelte as a real one.
Nae photies, but I did find something similar on Google. Close your eyes now if you just had your dinner....

A load of scooters went past today (Not the twist and go type). I didn't see the number plates but they were clearly the Vespa/Lambretta type. I think some were old enough to be classics. I didn't notice and abundance of parkas; maybe a few flags and mirrors (It wasn't exactly Quadrophenia). An unusual occurence.

Welshie, judging by the state of the building behind the Renault and the BMW you should go and make a (very) low offer. They look like they could do with any money they can get for new windows so you never know £50 may secure one (or even both)
