Frank Barnes. Actually Franklin Barnes invented a system for degaussing ships. I had to go on 'tinternet' to find that. I discovered that it was an Aussie who invented the electric drill and the 'Black Box' flight recorder.

Another clue then: My most famous invention was used in agriculture, not aviation, motor racing, pro athletics or fitting new soles to worn out baffies!
And I did mention that I'm dead, an ex-inventor, ceased to be, rotted away almost to nothing by now I should think.

Frank Bottrill , invented a soft ground wheel thing. That was too difficult.
