The question is, would you swap your car for the jet? I would love to have one of those in the field but I think SWMBO would kill me if an airplane arrived :S

Took the Morris (looks identical to the one in Terry's avatar) for MoT on Wednesday - passed fine, with no advisories. "Ah! A proper car!" said the tester - an old boy, he was one of the rare folk who knew where the dip switch and the bonnet release were without asking me!
I might have the beginnings of a hub seal leak though, so I'll keep an eye on that. Good going for a 48-year old car!
Cheers

Replaced my exhaust manifold gasket and studs. Quieter exhaust and no more nasty smell when driving. I still need to do the clutch :S

Bought and fitted a hardtop for the MX-5.
Promptly took it off again to begin prepping it for repair and paint.

Good to see that artillary wheels are making a comeback! These ones look great on the MX5, much less common than the almost inevitable alloys.

I have just been going through the RR trying to find the cause of it's intermittent poor running and have tracked it down to failing bearings in my distributor. while under the bonnet checking for air leaks by pulling and pushing on every connecter, it started making a buzzing noise. cap off and I can move it left-right about .5mm and up down about 1mm. turn the engine a few times and it is firm again, a few more times and the play returns. something is broken!
Looks like I will be in my daily driver going to the NEC tomorrow :S

Last night had a mad spannering session replacing the dizzy on my range. While setting the timing I dropped the timing light in to the spinning fan which broke the light and snapped my drive belt (the language that followed would not be suitable for our younger members). Getting my spare timing light out I set it up with no drive belt on as it only needed to run for a minute or to.
An 8am visit to the local motor factors provided me with a new belt which I promptly fitted only to find that my viscous fan is no longer working (ARSE! fortunately I have a spare one) Going to my pre-arranged MOT anyway and the car failed on a corroded brake pipe. As I am currently annoyed, it is all being left to next weekend.

Fitted the new tax disc
Well, what's better than that for an orange 70s icon?
