What classic vehicles have you seen?

Here's the place to chat about all things classic. Also includes a feedback forum where you can communicate directly with the editorial team - don't hold back, they'd love to know what they're doing right (or wrong of course!)

Crikey Alan, someone's been on the grumpy juice this morning! ;)

Have a very large coffee and a big, sticky Danish, then all will be well with the world.

Naturally, I don't consider the Dolomite "mundane" either, but what a dull world this would be if we all agreed with everything that every other contributor wrote in a web forum.

*Breathes out, looks at the lovely, blue sky above his head, takes another sip of tea, dunks Hob Nob, loses it, awww bugger! Never mind - three left in the pack, all is indeed well with the world.*

:D

There is really no need for that attitude.

My intention was to indicate that the non-Sprint models in the range were rare here. On reflection, my choice of adjective could have been better. I certainly did not mean to indicate they were of no interest whatsoever. If my description offended you, then I do apologise. If you have further issues with it, please take it to PM.

I think that possibly only Sprint Dolomites were sold here? I recall talking to guy with a green Dolomite 1850 Automatic at a show some years ago. His car came over with him from New Zealand.

Cheers,
Brett.

Yes, sorry. I was wrong. And besides, as it has been pointed out to me since that elitism has always existed in car ownership - that is why car manufacturers make different trim levels for the same model of car.

Sorry again, as JPB so rightly says, I had drunk too much grumpy juice this morning.... :P

Eventually, after a further dozen or so cars had passed the exit of the forecourt, I got out into the traffic. Nae worries Ben, I wasn't in a hurry to get into the traffic anyway. :P ;)

That W114 Merc is gorgeous.

A kid around the corner, about 19, drives a restored silver W123 280CE and I am very jealous of it.

I wasn't as it happens, this is possibly why I blended into the scenery. Either way, no aplopogies required.

I was in my new toy, following one of its rare visits to a fuel selling venue:

Today, I saw a bright orange, pre-1963ish Morris Minor. For the first time in my life I've now seen a bright orange car that I thought would have looked better in grey. :(

That was parked up in Newbiggin. Further up the coast, in Amble, was another Minor - but not finished in orange.
That two apart, this has been a very slack weekend for spots. Is everyone hiding from me or what?

Saw a 1971 Holden HQ Premier estate in gold and a yellow 73-74 VW Superbug similar to mine today.
