Not necessarily that cramped , I have a 35+" inside leg measurement and am 6ft 2" tall yet can fit that - or any similarly tiny quad - without needing to call out the fire brigade to get me out again, this thanks to relatively high seating, wide opening doors and dogged perseverance.
I'm not sure whether the same UK legislation that allows 16 year olds to run about in 50cc versions of the Aixam and Microcar brands of quads would make this older machine suitable for use by big kids who prefer to get to school without being soaked as they would on the usual generic two wheelers, but if it would, then this would be a good first project for a younger child to take on as a learning exercise and a stepping stone to a car.
The modern 50cc micros are limited to 30mph but even out here in the arse end of nowhere, where surprisingly large quantities of kids run the modern equivalents rather than have to board or get to school late, the performance isn't the end of the world, especially when you're 16 and need a road legal mobile love nest!

The advert says desirable. Yawn. Others use the term: Head turner. (well I wouldn't give it a second look.) Now my mate has gone and bought one, he's expecting the rest of us to go overboard with the superlatives. I'm keeping out of the way, I wouldn't be rude, well not to his face, but I mean, desirable it is not. It's the sort of car that accountants buy, plain, dull and bland. Easily pleased, is my mate.

Has your mate bought the one from the C&C ad, or a genuine Carlsson? The genuine article is very lively, a friend runs one as a daily driver, having bought it originally as a donor for a Dolomite engine upgrade and then fitted a Triumph DOHC V8 to the Dolly instead, the easier (just) option. He also runs a much uprated Esprit V8 and finds the Saab is far the faster device.
BUT.. In that Saab, he was consistently around 7 seconds behind my kitten estate around the Doune autotest course back in the Scottish Autotrader Series days of the mid '90s. Too much power, wet mud and front wheel drive versus small, light rwd car with rearward weight bias embarrasses the world's fastest production neep every time.
