Rich - Just buy the Allegro estate - stick a towbar on it add a tipping trailer and your problem is resolved - you don't need a new truck  - how come the police insist that you need a new truck anyway - does the old Transit not meet the regs out there ?

Love the motorcycle but isn't its tipping capacity a bit limited for your needs?

Also love the Allegro but I assume you've noticed that the transmission is slipping, probably not helped by the synthetic oil he admits to having used at the service! Mini specialists supply suitable oil for BL stuff with these auto boxes, flushing and refilling with some of that may "fix" the slipping, it certainly did on the last miniMETRO semi auto I had, shame it didn't help to heal the holes in that car's floors and inner sills..

Or maybe view the gearbox as an excuse to fit a very late Metro power unit which comes with a parking pawl in the transmission and an unleaded head on the engine. On the plus side it is Vermillion which is nigh enough orange.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while, it took painkillers and a long lay down in a darkened room to recover from this board's affection with that 70's monstrosity, can't even bring myself to say the word, biscuit tin of a car.

OMG :o Wait until you find out what I've just bought - Its not an Allegro but comes from the same manufacture and was the Allegro's replacement for the 80's - does that mean that GHT won't talk to me again - ever

I've heard of talking Maestros but never of thinking ones, that's weird and more than a little frightening.

:P

It's most certainly a Maestro 1.3L flavour - factory fitted sunroof and most likely one of the best if not the best existing example of the brand - one owner & a mere 9.000 miles from new - virtually mint condition - Just needs a service and few very minor cosmetics before I retail it on - GHT it would be lovely addition to your fleet ;)
