Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850
TBH John, nor had I until it was pointed out, but when you look it's so bleeding obvious. Swapped now, so both sets are right

Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850
I'm wondering now. Were mine the right way up?

Can't tell from that.

Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850
Thanks - I really couldn't think of anything else that might be wrong with them - I did an Ebay search and also Google images and it was very difficult to tell the difference when compared with others - then I went back to look at your car again and in that first photo they just seemed to be pointing down a bit - please don't ask any more questions as I'm bound to get them wrong - this was just a lucky guessmach1rob wrote:Well done that man! They went on the same as they came off, easy to tell as one had a snapped thread which was always on the OS. There was a discussion on a fb group that they were both the same and made no difference when someone pointed out they were on the wrong way round. Now rectified and now it's so bloody obvious!

That's it, you can only tell from certain angles, and something I'd not even spotted. Annoyingly todays meet was cancelled due to the really REALLY bad weather, so it'll have to wait for it's public show debut a while longer.

Someone just got a mention on the PC facebook page
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

I know
I'm still in 2 minds about replying to

I'm not sure it's good enough, although everyone else is saying just do it...Practical Classics Restoration Show Rob Copson fancy putting the car on display at the new Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC in April? Have you got plenty of before, during and after pics? Get in touch please, either on here or email
Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850
Just do it. There aren't many people brave enough to attempt spraying a car themselves. I have done the odd panel and various bits of touching up after treating rust but I wouldn't be brave enough to do the whole lot.

Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850
Yeah, just do it! If it were me, I'd be asking for a free family pass as they're not that great a saving this year and are only available from seeticket, but then I would 'cos I'm apparently quite tight with the old spending lark.
If it does go on show though, either fit the hub seal or at the very least fib when people ask which cowboy gave that axle to the car's previous keeper. Mind you, there would be some satisfaction about having a small part in an act of dumping E140 all over the floor of the NEC...

Re: 1972 Triumph Dolomite 1850

I have emailed the person concerned, so will see what the reply comes back as. Main concern currently is funds, as there's fuel, food, probably hotel and all the other bits that a weekend show away will bring.
