1) Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL, 1977, white with beige interior trim. Had overdrive and a webasto sunroof fitted.
2) Vauxhall Cavalier 1600 GLS saloon, 1982, grey with red velour interior.
3) Triumph Toledo 4 dr, 1974, emerald green with grey/black interior trim.
4) Triumph Herald 13/60 saloon, 1970, black with black interior trim.
5) Triumph Dolomite 1850 HL, 1979, Vermilion with black trim and overdrive (after I had it fitted when the original engine blew to bits on the A12).
6) Triumph Dolomite Sprint, 1980, Porsche red with black trim, 180 bhp burton built engine with twin weber 45 DCOE carbs, oil cooler etc, comp overdrive gearbox and comp rear axle, lowered and pretty thirsty.
7) Triumph Toledo 4 dr, 1974, maple brown with chestnut trim, still have today after nearly 20 years ownership.
8) Morris Marina 1300, 1978, blue with blue trim. Originally an 1800.
9) Mini 1000, 1978, tulip with tan trim. Originally an 850.
10) Austin Montego 1300, 1985, red with tan trim.
11) Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL, 1979, vermilion with black trim, complete with knocking, rumbling engine with added crankshaft end float problem.
12) Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL, 1978, white with tan trim.
13) Triumph Dolomite sprint, 1978, vermilion with black trim.
14) Triumph Spitfire 1500, 1979, vermilion with black trim. Originally a 4 speed but later converted to an overdrive.
15) Triumph Herald 1200 saloon, 1969, Royal blue with black trim.
16) Triumph Herald 13/60 saloon, 1970, white with red trim.
17) Triumph Herald 1200 estate, 1964, Conifer green with red trim, converted to D-type overdrive, alternator charging system, electronic iginiton. Still have this one.

Escort mk 3 estate 1.6GL for 5 mts until the tax ran out, it was very rusty and I paid what the tax was worth for it.

Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 auto, 1998 comfy seats, easy to knock the ice setting on the gearshift meaning standing starts in third if you didn't notice, nasty if nipping out of junctions.
2001 Honda Accord 2.0 SE The most reliable car of the lot.

Only had cars for the last 3 or 4 years. In that time I've had:
1. 1986 Austin Metro I inherited from my mum (taken to Barcelona on a banger rally - it was close to dead)
2. 1983 Mercedes W123 200 (sold for parts)
3. 1993 Proton GLS (banger rally to Budapest)
4. 1986 BMW 525e (sold for parts)
5. 1993 VW polo 'Boulevard' in bright pink! Blew head gasket after 2 weeks

Then I realised it would be wise to know how to fix cars (didn't even change the oil myself on any of the above)

6. 1985 W123 coupe 230CE (sold on after about a year)
7. 1986 Porsche 924S (Did a lot of work on this, loved it, went on a big euro road trip in it with my Mrs, then got carried away in the wet and wrote it off)
8. 1985 W123 saloon 230E (currently my 'daily driver' and will be our wedding car)
9. 1983 W123 coupe 280CE (Optimistically christened 'project wedding', basically I'm planning to rebuild it totally to improve my skills).

Also from then we tended to own cars for many years – I hate changing them. On average we keep any car up to seven years.

Starting 1987, and more or less in order, here is my ecclectic list. The double ups are intentional and not a mistake.

A few were modern, two were new, some were classics, some were borderline wrecks on that knife edge between nobody wants it and becoming a classic, some were just wrecks and one or two were bloody brilliant.

I've definitely missed one or two out, but if I can't remember them they can't be worth mentioning
