Which is always a good one, as it's only a couple of O rings that really hold it in place! After reading all sorts of horror stories, and all ready to fit a washer to a length of threaded bar to make a puller, mine came out with little effort, which was nice.

I shall say pass John, but it's deffo a 12 vane pump in there, I now kind of hope the cover is a 12 vane and not the earlier 6 vane one then :?

Oh and this car will be needing some bodywork at some point so I will be getting the welding gear out again. This car though has never been welding before

Water pump fitted and shimmed up as recommended by the guys at S&S, fit the cover without the gasket, measure the gap, add 10 thou and bobs your uncle. I then bled the system using a pressure filler/bleeder, it ran up to temp and heater blowed lovely and warm.
Of course that was not the end of my troubles, once hot the cooling fan started to make a hell of a racket....

So I cheered myself up by removing those Hideous gold stripes from the bodywork

It looks so much better without the stripes, IMHO, not that I'd kick a striped one out of bed if it asked me nicely.
As far as I'm aware, 1977 was the year that the 12 vane pump was introduced but hey, this is BL we're talking about so nothing actually surprises me that much.
8-)

I do like TR7s but I might be in a class of one in liking the gold stripes. Looks like a nice one too, and has the very appealing lime green tartan interior.

I've never been a fan of stripes on any car. All the RR's I have had came with a stupid stripe down the side, it has always been the first thing I took off.
Have you found a new fan to put on this weekend?

The stripes were ok, the Dolly will be getting some small black go faster stripes eventually, but nowt fancy like what was on this one :)
