Post pictures and stories about your cars both present and past. Also post up "blogs" on your restoration projects - the more pictures the better! Note: blog-type threads often get few replies, but are often read by many members, and provide interest and motivation to other enthusiasts so don't be disappointed if you don't get many replies.
went to the house where my vogue has lived since 1965 and has been standing unused since 1989 and drove and shunted her around until she was finally in a position where i can drive her out of the drive and onto the transporter i have booked for saturday morning. was quite a difficult task given that since it was put in the garage the late owner built garden walls and fences! also not having hydraulics to the brakes (handbrake only), auto box and knackered tyres added to the challenge.
so, saturday at 9am she will be collected and brought to my place..cant wait
on another note, was emailed this picture today
this is Mr Baden Caldecott, the first owner of my vogue.
The police have already told you that you aren't allowed another one!
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

shes gorgeous john!
im sorely tempted to do a quick brake refurb (got new master cylinder, lucas remote servo, front and rear service kits plus flexis) fit the new tyres and water pipes and run her for a month or so before the salted roads appear.
dunno, will spend the rest of the holiday weekend tinkering for now.
Just echoing Johns thoughts - really nice to see original cars like this - but do yourself a favour - get shut of the reflective number plates - they just don't belong on quality motor like this.
1937 Jowett 8 - Project - in less pieces than the Jupiter
1943 Jowett Stationary Engine
1952 Jowett Jupiter - In lots of peices http://Jowett.org/
1952 Jowett Javelin - Largely original
1973 Rover P6 V8 - Original / 22,000 miles
/\/\/\ The Northerner makes a good point about the plates but - on the other hand - reflective plates were becoming popular from the start of the '60s and were as desirable an upgrade back then as bigger rims or special paint finishes are these days so my inclination would be to leave the plates if they're the car's original set but if the reflective ones are a later addition, go for some nice Bluemels' black ones with cast aluminium, semi-peak characters to satisfy any urge you may feel in the plate-changing direction.
I used to put non reflective plates on pretty much every pre-1972 car that I bought as a matter of principle, simply because it's legally permitted to do that but as I mellow into early middle age , I can look at a really good car such as the topic of this thread and think that it looks pretty darned fine as it stands.
J "Home is where you park it", so the saying goes. That may yet come true..
