Just had someone claiming to be a local shop owner come to the house.
Claiming he had a description of a thief living at my address in a caravan
on the property!

This happened while was in the caravan on the property which I use as a
refuge/study/workshop away from the rest of the family. The description
of the thief was about 5foot 6, thin build and going thin on top.

Those who have met me will know that description is WAY OFF!!

Also without telling the rest of us dad confronted someone trying to go
round our property during the day. When confronted by my dad and the
dogs he threatened to kill the dogs!

We didn't know who they were but they were told try it and I'll use the
gun on you!
We have never had any trouble like that here I am wondering if it is
the sign of things to come.

can you get me a stereo
id inform the police but not mention the bit about a gun, the fuzz tend to get a bit funny about those....

Rich no joking on the stereo, the family has to do everything above
board with law enforcement in the family!

As for the gun, be it a 12 bore shotgun or a small air rife/pistol the
type of gun is irrelevant as they have been warned and the particular
weapon is here legally. WE have never stated what it is to anybody
but the authorities!!

However threatening to shoot someone is an offence in itself so BE CAREFUL.

Maybe not, but telling someone you have such a weapon can result with a visit from several well armed Policemen! I remember a farmer who phoned the Police to say someone was trying to pinch something (a trailer or something like that) and the Police said they'd come when they could. The farmer then said he'd go out with the gun and armed Police were almost there before he got outside!

Sounds like a bit of Texas justice is in order

1 Bump off the offender. (Method to suit occasion.)

2 Take remains round to nearest pig farm and chuck them in the pig pen. They eat everything including the buttons!

3 Job done.

4 You can then go to Sainsbury's and buy the bacon and then there is no DNA traceable.

Sorry to hi-jack things while they were getting interesting.

Just wondering if Greg Barnes ever got his Mini back. It seems that the best way of holding on to something that is stolen is to simply claim ownership and the Police run a mile and fall over themselves (aided and abetted by DVLA) to protect the thieves from losing what is wrongfully "theirs".

Happened to me in 1989 and to Greg just last year. Hence the bee in my bonnet. You would have though that this little loophole would have been changed by now.

Any, back to normal service. Has anyone mentioned immersion in boiling old engine oil? Or what about the "Pharoh Solution" from American Graffiti? So sweet if they get dragged along for a few miles by the car they stole.

Show off - my ring compressors are 100mm+ diameter, so you must be impressive to be hurt by something that big!
