I'll second those thoughts - hope the New Year brings you all you wish for . . . . . hopefully Santa's listening.

From another forum....
.....Christmas should be like the Olympic Games, held every four years and usually in someone else's country.

The Philippines is very nice this time of year Mitsuru.
Folks there generally get into the Chrimble thing enthusiastically, but are not big on the commercialism.

Well I am going to enjoy Christmas. Family knees ups planned for Christmas day, boxing day, following Sunday and a new year party to finish off. In between I am going to make an english wheel. I went to the NEC classic car show and had a go on the Leeds uni stand between demos. Surprised myself as to how quickly I managed to wheel the panel into the correct shape. Went online and was surprised how much info is available as to making and using one. I need it to make some repair panels for my Wolseley 1500. When I have finished it I will let you know how I got on. Parts to make the wheel came to £114 plus the cost of a pint of beer. Had a bet on with a friend that I could make it for less than £100. Roll on the new year and I can get the Wolseley finished.

I emigrated to Australia in 1968 and didn't revisit England 'till ...yes 1976. I thought I'd fell asleep on the plane and gone full circle.

I won't wish people a merry Christmas considering what some people could
be going through, be it work, weather or money related troubles.
So I will wish you all a safe and dry(flood free) Christmas and New Year.
As we all have had to make compromises over this year let us all hope
that the next one will be a better one.

Actually, I need to revise that because it reads all wrong (I must have had my brain in neutral whilst posting).
Christmas is not a big issue here in Abu Dhabi and is just a normal work day. It's a bit cheesy because it's all commercial but in fact it's the LACK of the religious element that makes it bearable. Having to work is a pain because you miss out on family time.
