O I C! I was getting that the wrong way round, and assuming that it was the amount of VED left on the car which the seller might want to keep, see how I get so confused?

Never heard that one before, but it is still common for traders to weigh the VED in - think about it; they can't know how long it'll be in stock and won't knowingly lose money, nor can the seller be sure whether the buyer wants the car in the PLG class - and offer a fresh disc with the vehicle at cost, though they'll charge for the trip to the Post Office in some cases!marknotgeorge wrote:I was under the impression that it was illegal for a dealer to sell a car without tax.
