Exactly! These are the only 165-80x14's that Blackcircles list that have a viable speed /load rating (ie above "S"). Whilst there are lots to choose out of 185-70x14's in T or H rating.
I am not convinced that fatter /low profile tyres are always going to be the best answer on older cars as it might spoil the handling balance, steering weight etc, not to mention maybe slowing the car down and using more fuel.

so in this months PC theres a photo of all the classic tyres staff which one are you?

the vw is cool ive never owned an air cooled but its a must to be ticked off my list one day,,,
