Long range weather forecast! WINTER WILL BE EARLY THIS YEAR

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

I bet it's substantially colder in Jedburgh this week 8-)

Today had been a lovely day in the east of Scotland but it rained for the 3 days previous to this and I'm sure it'll be raining again tomorrow.

No Summer for us this year. Been wet and cold since May. It's getting dark by 7pm here now too.

I heard that scientist boffin types guage the sort of Winter we're going to have by the drop in temperature in the Arctic region. That temperature is around -10 degrees C which is colder than usual for this time of year.......

Dave, have you always been this cheerful? ;)

There appear to have been fewer berries during this past summer - on the various plants that carry them - than there were last year. Once upon a time, this was said to be an indicator of a milder winter to come as nature had decided that wild animals wouldn't need so much fast food in warmer weather.
I want to believe that this is true but won't require any reminders of my having posted the above if we're sat here in December with temperatures in deep freeze and garden roughly equal. Again.
