MOT booked for the Vitesse Saturday morning, went down to Wickes Fridsay night after work to get some tiles, and it started pulling to the left when braking......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....most likely a fault on the right caliper- sure enough, damp pad which wasn't moving as it should..a quick strip down showed a mildly tarnished piston, enough to cause a leak past the seal. A clean up with 1500 wet'n'dry, reassemble and bleed, good as new, and pulling up in a straight line. It passed and is still dry but I suppose I'd better replace the seal now.

The initial cause is I believe the protective boot was adrift allowing winer salt in- I have 16P calipers, the boot is an unbelievable pig to fit, you really wouldn't believe how fiddly they are! 16PB's are identical have much better protection, must track some down!

...and why do you need windscreen washing facilities on a JCB? Is this to keep things nice and clear for making your escape after you've managed to slice through a water main?
