No spannering has been done recently but there has been lots of driving and lots of fun.

Last weekend I went to the Tetbury car show with my local "Royal Wootton Bassett Classic Car Club" and had a great day out. 12 of us set out in Convoy from RWB and all made it to the event. The event was great with over 500 vehicles present plus a Darlek...which one of our members bought!

Then on Thursday evening, 20 classic cars left RWB for the Defence academy in Shrivenham where we spent the evening clambering ove and in all sorts of military vehicles (Well the ones I could fit in anyway  The russian T34 was definately not built with humans in mind let alone FB's) followed by fish and chips in a car park. Another great evening!

It was capped off by my clutch pedal going all floppy and refusing to disengage the clutch on the way home. It was very dark so I pressed on and Poppy didn't let me down and got me home yet again but it was an interesting and challenging drive!

So I had an excuse to do some investigative spannering and discovered that all my clutch fluid had disappeared! I traced the system from the master cylinder all the way through to the slave and found no obvious signs of leakage so topped it back up and gave a quick bleed and all working tickety boo now :)

So, before I reassemble my gear box tunnel, carpet and Radio, can anyone shed any light on where all my fluid went? Is it likely to vanish again? I replaced the clutch fluid back in April when I got her back on the road again and not checked it since  So I don't know whether it has been a gradual loss or sudden.

Given there are no leaks form the pipework it is probably leaking out one of the cylinders, you need to check the master and slave cylinders where the push rods emerge, on the master cylinder pull back the big rubber boot on the firewall and this will expose the back of the master cylinder, if it is leaking it will probably be damp, to be sure pull back the seal on the master cylinder and check in there as well. The slave cylinder if I remember correctly is clamped into the bell housing, you will need to remove this to check it, I would suspect this is the most likely leak as you can't see it because it goes into the bell housing and gets sprayed everywhere, my landrover is doing the same thing (I am just topping it up once a month until I get round to changing it).

id agree on the slave cylinder being the culprit, for reliability id rebuild or replace both master and slave anyways.
