The bottom of the scuttle where it meets the chassis and running boards finished about 6" above the joint. An amazing piece of invisible welding to let a piece in and then paint matching by the body guys. The running boards and brackets had rotted through in places so they were repaired.

'Ally Mick' the aluminium fabricator did the adjuster repair at Unitech Industries Ltd in Burntwood near Walsall. They did it as a favour to me. I used to work there.

The engine was beautiful when it was finished. It started straight off. A shame they didn't show or explain the autovac system. It was filmed. Ah well you can't show everything.

The cold welding is pretty amazing. I was taught how to do it when I was at Technical College though I've never done it since. I have done an engineers stitching though.

Another satisfied customer I believe.

An amazing car. Proper craftwork there, the head repair was engineering magic. Fuzz looked genuinly upset to see it go in the last second :)
There definitely needs to be a DVD with extras including the missing footage with more technical stuff.

Many thanks Ian - that's only about 15 miles down the road and handy to know about.

Done a bit of searching myself and found another firm in the local South Derbyshire area (must be a coincidence that there are two similar companies so close together)

Also this site which has a series of drawings showing the process

Hands up who has entered the competition to win £5k of restoration work at Westgate?
I think my Minor would look very special with £5000 of love :)

What have you in mind? How old is the Pug and how far has it been? Service history? Diesel? Manual or Tiptronic? Do you like Farina bodied Morris Oxfords?
To keep this thread on topic, you could reply by email if it helps. :)

Any chance you could enter a car that only needs putting through the car wash. Westgate need to pull some cash back!
