Chris, how right you are!
I sometimes loose sight of the fact that the car isnt restored, just recomissioned.
It is my aim to have her repainted sometime but we will see.

really pleased with the shine and finish, get some bling on it and all will be smart i think

Ordered the new number plates from framptons today, went for black plates with silver raised rivited numbers/letters, quite reasonable and should look period compared with the relective it came with. Whilst chatting with anita from framptons we got talking about black plates with raised rivited alloy letters/numbers..ACE stylee. Over £100 per plate!!
Back in the garage to tomorrow eve to carry on t cutting and waxing.
If i can get it waxed by the weekend i will get the screen out and prep the surround ready for a fresh rubber seal and refitting, i can then move onto bling.

Had a waxing session in the garage last night, didnt finish the whole of the car but initial results look great.
Not in the garage tonight as I am out with my 2 youngsters (14 and 16!) at one of their 4 weekly kickboxing sessions.

Had a few parcels delivered.

First one was these:



Lovely quality, super quick delivery from Framptons and should look the part?

Other one was this:



Its a small (100mm) quarter light mirror.

Back in the garage tomorrow night to hopefully finish the waxing, I can move onto cleaning and refitting the chrome at the weekend that way.

Had a busy week due to being dads taxi running my boy round to various gyms in his preparation for his forthcoming thai boxing match.

Finished work at a reasonable time so hit the garage.
Carried on with finishing waxing the bodywork. i have only done the outer panels and the bonnet shut area, once the weather is warmer i will detail it all inc the door shuts etc.
despite a few areas of paintwork that i would ideally have liked to paint i am more than happy. the only reason i mention the other areas is they have been polished through slightly but i suppose thats lots of years of love showing through and adds character .




I have been using this wax and i must say its really good to use.



Decided to finish off the night by refitting the various rubber buffers and guides around the bonnet area.

Got a full day of training with my son tomorrow again but should grab and hour or two and there is always sunday.
Cant decide whether to get the front chrome on and give her her face back or get the rear done..decisions decisions.

Garage door is great, fitted that as when i built the garage i was into 4x4 off roading and needed loads of headroom to get the lifted car into the garage

Yeah, carnuba wax is the dog's doodahs.

Coming on nicely is that, I'm glad you're leaving a bit of patina, it's going to be a lovely car - in fact it is already IMHO. Chrome on first? Depends on whether you need a morale boost - fitting up one end will help you see something like the finished article at least from some angles, or you may prefer to do "final fit" in one go. Either way it's looking like you don't have far to go - on the road in time for some decent weather, hopefully?
