And so it had when i got up today, infact we had blue skies, no wind or rain and a strange yellow thing in the sky!

I decided to venture out and see what carnage has unfolded over the last few weeks (seems like a lot longer than a few weeks though).
apart from a ridge tile off the garage, there appeared to be no damage. my garage walls are sodden and some water has pooled on the garage floor, driven in by the wind no doubt. so, we got off lightly.

Having had a decent break from car related stuff I decided to resume all things singer.
After refitting the bonnet, first job was to flat back the wing tops and bonnet, that done I cut it using G3 and finally t cut. I am really pleased with the finish, yes there are a few places it could be better but for a first attempt im chuffed and it will suffice until funds allow for a full repaint and it is certainly better than the blistered and peeling affair I had before. The color match is pleasing, if you look hard enough it does appear slightly darker but the rest of the car needs polishing up, good enough for me and fits in with my ethos of a recommission as opposed to a restoration.




Got my daughter to help me bleed the brakes old school style. I used my easibleed previously but felt the brakes could be better. I suspected air in the master cylinder so a few pumps and they are a lot better. Had some air out of the first few purges (rear cylinder) but nothing after that so I am hoping thats sorted. Certainly a decent pedal now.
Fitted the refurbed rims and new tyres and dropped the car down off the axle stands for the 1st time since Christmas.
Moved the car out of the garage and gave her a swill down with some nice clean water, so I can start polishing and waxing before refitting the chrome.
Need to order the new black and silver reg plates from Framptons this week.

So, essentially I need to remove the front screen and refit with the new rubber seal, fit the new waist seals along with the super expensive quarter light seals. Get the chrome refitted, change the engine and autobox oil, Fit the replacement diff pinion oil seal and some fresh oil then apply some waxoyl...Then take her for an mot

Be making a start this week but my son is in training for a thai boxing match so out with him 4 nights a week at the mo. Wont take long though, the windscreen is the biggest worry .

if you have acces to a new screen rubber just cut the old one out.. its not like the bonded ones today

Got a new screen seal ready, will take the screen out this week so i can clean all the gunk from the surround. I suspect the previous owner had a leak at some point and used some black sealant that has hardened into a hard, coal like substance. I will use the trusty hair dryer to warm it through and aid removal.
My wife is going to love helping me fit that...lol
