I've spotted SFA today.

went to the scrappy yesterday & saw a rather lovely mustang fastback, owned by one of the staff.. didnt have time to get pics which is a shame as the finish was on a par with that chap foose fellow..

Went food shopping yesterday and seen the first mk1 Chrysler Neon I have seen in over
9 months pulling out of the car park of Hartlepool Tescos. Then on the way home a mk1
ford mondeo hatchback yet another car I haven't seen on the road in a long time.

Spotted this yesterday evening












Utterly rotten shell,built around a steel frame,powered by a 2.2 flat 4.
It flys,but then again it ain't pulling much weight

Built by two brothers,two of their previous creations have graced the cover of Volksworid mag on two seperate occasions.

Ordinarily, I'm no great fan of that ratty, rusty look and would sooner see an oval in stock condition, maybe a slight lowering job but no narrowed beam, no scrub line breach at the front ends of the running boards, just a nice, mildly worked bug but that thing is so mental, so in yer face, that I love it. I bet the Gardaí don't share my appreciation of it!

This is possibly beyond salvation............ early twenties I think but no indication as to what it was, spotted on Hols the other week.


It's in some man made caves near Berny Riviere, outside Soissons in France. I'd come across this on the net while looking for places to visit near there, it's a long way from the road, quite a steep hike through the woods. The caves were dug by the French army in WW1, it's weirdly atmospheric, freezing despite being boiling outside, they go for miles, there's a chapel in there, telephone points, all sorts. Worth a visit and take a torch!

That changes my opinion of marketroids significantly! Top bloke, well done him but tell him that accessory shops, eBay, factors and car dealers sell stuff called "polish" whose occasional use can prevent red, German paint from turning pink. It's not even expensive and given that marketroids earn an average million Pounds per day, is easily affordable. If I worked with him, I'd buy a bottle of Mer or similar for his Christmas box.
Saying that, no, don't buy Mer for a marketroid, he'll read the name and auto fill the next three absent letters about half an hour before realising that it's not going to get him pished. Get him Turtle Wax instead, he won't try to drink that.

One of the students - in today for their results - has just informed me that she's bringing in a Morris Oxford of the type that would live on as the Hindustan Ambassador for her project in the final year. I have seen a photo of it on a tiny phone screen and even from that can see that there's really not that much left of the thing. It's always good to see kids with ambition, especially if I'm not going to be there when it gets swept up from the workshop floor and poured straight into a waiting, Estonian registered Transit pickup.

Just been reading an interesting report about the Ambassador on the BBC - well worth a quick read to see the description and the way in which the car has developed (or not) over the years
