breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Ooh, B series Diesel with automatic gearbox in the Morris van thing. Me like the idea of that but the seller does say that the hut is only there to keep the weather off the stuff he has stored inside.
Definite mobile home potential though.

That Wedge looks good for the money, I make no secret of my dislike of the E6 engine as a means of propelling a motor vehicle, but for that much under a grand it's got to be worth considering, especially as I'm fewer than 90 miles from the car and was about to spend a similar amount on something far less stylish, comfortable and spacious than the Princess. This, to be precise which, as you'll notice, has some minor bits missing.

As for that Marina, what a good looking old thing it is, but then I have been at the rum.

 It takes a lot to shut me up, that did the job! :x

On the other hand, being obsequiousjective for a moment; it would cost more than that to have pretty much any car restored to that sort of condition by a professional so it may appeal to someone who has neither the skill nor the time to take on a project, but wants to experience the jalopy scene in a slightly detached way.

Now that remark has lifted the scales from my eyes. It always baffled me as to how BL sold Marinas, other then to it's own workforce. So this is how they did it.

Metro-based W.A.V? Eww, no!

That truck, OTOH, intrigues me as it's something that bit unusual. Nice thing.

@GHT: Ah yes, beer goggles - getting aesthetically challenged people into intimate situations for years. Any port in a storm, etc.

Hmm, not that far from Hambach, so I could pick up a Smart if I wanted to have faults ignored by Mercedes UK's so-called customer service team all over again! My CDi was notified scrapped by the supplying dealer two days after its 2nd birthday as they don't fix broken seats, spaceframe cracks, suspension bushes or clutch motors under warranty. The twats!
Wouldn't have another Golf unless it was an African Citi version, which allows its driver to apply the brakes when they, rather than the car, deem it necessary. Quite happy with the old Fiat and the Corolla for the time being, but I never stop looking for more inventive ways to pish cash up the walls!
