You will need to remove the powdercoat where the wheel nuts come into contact with the wheels otherwise your wheel nuts will work loose because of the lack of friction. This happened to somebody I know who powdercoated his steel wheels (he found out before he lost a wheel). I'm sorry if I've put a downer on it but it is better that you know beforehand rather than find out the hard way and lose a wheel with potentially disastrous consequences. It is a small price to pay to make sure the wheel nuts don't work loose and with the trims in situ it won't detract from the looks.
They're looking good though.

Thats a fair point TM, i have done about 6 or so sets of rims in the past with no problems. May have been lucky?

First rim (the spare wheel) was dropped at the fitters to have the plain black tyre fitted, didnt bother having that one balanced, the other 4 will be balanced though (fitting a tyre with a 16mm white sidewall band).
The spare wheel looks very smart indeed.

A nice parcel from a fellow forum member turned up today.
4 lovely wheel rim trims.

Not pressed into the rim, just sat on it to see what they will look like, should look quite smart with the chrome hub caps.
.
Another parcel was delivered, this contained a pair of 14" chrome framed wiper blades along with the differential pinion oil seal.
Once the rest of the wheels and tyres are fitted I can get her up on the ramps and strip the diff seal out and get it replaced.

Having a night off tonight so no progress to report.
Wife took 2 rims and tyres to be fitted, very pleased with them. going to leave the protection on the white band until im doing the final clean and polish up
2 more loaded up ready for tomorrow.

If the weather is fit this weekend I will get them fitted so I can get the car out of the garage for a hose down to remove the dust.
Found a company that supplies the badge fixing that I need (bit like a rawlplug?)

They also do the edge clips that I need to refit the new rubber waist seals (could reuse the old ones but figure some nice new ones will make things last). To fit these edge clips I can either remove the glass or devise a sheet steel 'j' hook type tool and try to fit them from the top...I will try one door and see. (similar to these)

Getting there

Double check the sizes, I ordered some, and they're too small, fall straight through the bodywork hole, and badge pin is too big to fit them if it did. Not and issue when it's a couple of quid, just mildly annoying more than anything.
