This MG TA arrived at work this week, despite its looks it is very original and has a current MOT and tax, the boss has even taken it out for a drive in the country

OOOOOO, I want
You can keep your Ferrari.
Brought the V8 into work today. Left home at 7am and had a nice run (Slightly detoured) to the shop. Saw no other classics.
These are pictures taken en route (But not today).

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Aside from the cars I have, I'd really like to own a pre war (VSCC eligible) sports car, like a TA. I very much like the M Type (They are also very small and will almost fit in a garden shed). The TA, although a Midget, is more the size of a Magnette (Still a small car). Lord Nuffield had decided that MG were to use a pushrod Morris engine, instead of the smaller OHC engines (Where the dynamo drive is the shaft between the crank and camshaft) they had been using. The TA had a mildly tuned 1292cc Morris 10 engine and this proved very popular with the Trials people, as it was quite torquey. When the TA became TB, it got the 1250 XPAG, which although more free revving, didn't have quite the low down pull of the long stroke JG engine. A T Type is probably the simpler car to run, compared with the M, J or P Type Midgets.
It has just occurred to me, that I didn't even notice the AC 3000 in the picture
and that my remarks, about a Ferrari, could have been interpreted as applying to the AC, as it is red and bears a passing resemblance to a Ferrari
It was just a genralisation, that there is no car, that I would really covert more than the TA. As it happens, I think I would rather take on a Ford V6, than a Ferrari engine, as I think the latter could bankrupt me.

A couple from today.
Having a pint at Andrewsfield airfield, when this pulled up. If you're going to drive onto a WWII USAF airfield, this is definitely the vehicle to do it in ('43 GPW)
.

Then, on the way home i pulled over to help this bloke get running again. Fortunately appeared to be just a vapour lock and he was on his way shortly after.

Also passed an Austin 8, poking out of someone's garage. But covered up with blankets. Did talk to the owner, and she uses it regularly.
Which, actually, brings things around full circle. As the company that created the original Jeep, Bantam, started out as an Austin 7 US manufacturer.

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Spent the day at the shop (Or rather in the workshop) building a mountain bike for a customer. However I saw a TVR Vixen (I've known of the car for thirty plus years) and a green MGB (Rubber bumper model), with what looked like Minilite style wheels. Earlier my father spotted a chrome bumper model, also green but with chrome wire wheels. I heard a few old style twin motorcycles.

Re: What classic vehicles have you seen?
Nice GPW. I was at Halfpenny Green Airfield near Wolverhampton on Sunday with my Willys MB and again on Monday. Between promoting the 40's weekend on 24th & 25th May I drooled over a mint 1970 Plymouth Road Runner 440. Oooh.........I want one. It sounded the mutts nuts. Parked next to it was a 1969 Mustang 'knotch back'. Nice but it ain't no Mopar! Apparently there where some other classic cars there.
The remake of 'Vanishing Point' had the best line in any film. "It takes a Mopar to catch a Mopar!"
Dear Santa can I have a Dodge Charger or a Challenger or a Super Bird or a Road Runner or a Viper please. I promise to do the washing up and vacuum.....er.....well.....that's a bit over the top I will do small jobs around the house like stroking the cats.
