Following on from my post of Mar 23, I went to fill a petrol can at Llangynidr Service Station and identified the car as a Swift. I have heard of them before but don't know if I have seen one in the flesh before. It looked like a 10hp and I found this - http://www.motorbase.com/profiles/vehic ... =308432834. I don't know what work it requires at the garage.

Looks like a Lancia badge? Flavia ?

I thought at first that someone had been in about at a VW Eos with some playdoh but yes, it's a Lancia like the one 3rd from the left in this image showing the current range. Most of these are built in the USA these days and are rebadged Chryslers, I believe that the little one is still built in Poland.

Take one Chrysler 200 convertible, swap some badges and you get the Lancia. Lancia are back in the UK again, but they all wear Chrysler badges.

To my own spottage, I heard an MGB coming yesterday (I was in my parents' garden working on their fence) and when I kooked up, I saw a red one, with the top down. I heard/saw a couple of older motorcycles but it was pretty quiet classicwise, considering the weather. There was the sound of some suicidal motorcyclists in the distance and there were a number of werdonkies about, though even these were less numerous, than might have been expected.

If the weather holds, I might give the V8 an airing next weekend.....but early before the plebs are about.....and no, I don't ride my bike in Downing Street

Stacks of older motorcycles up & down the coastal route yesterday afternoon, all sorts including a 1939 Sunbeam high cam single that was only built for a few months and then only in double figures, a gorgeous AJS with a torpedo chair at its side and the inevitable few dozen BSAs. Turned out there was a raid from Berwick that had started with some 50+ bikes. Ironically, I was on the way up to the steading to meet the old man and help with his pair of classic single cylinder four strokes so was on the move and no footage - the downside to a newfangled car with a deep screen and its forwardmost (from four) outlet further from said screen than the lead would reach. I'd have done grand if I'd been after taking film of the inside of the boot, the rear floorwells, the innards of the glove hole or the bottom 1/3 of the radio dial. Classics are much more camera fit friendly.


No Martin, not Silverstone, there is a clue in the name of the image which comes up when you right click, select "view image in original location" then look under "permissions". It wasn't a recent one - must have been on the Fuji's XD card at least two years as I had left it dormant and only bought it a pair of fresh AA cells last month, phones are so much more convenient bar the lack of a tripod socket - but was posted to illustrate Rob's lyrics as quoted in the post above that.
