Bought a handy stud welder/puller tool from Harbor Freight on the weekend:



Wanted to get rid of some of the dents on the car. You start by cleaning the paint off:



Then use the welder to weld a stud:



Then attached the slide hammer.

After a lot of work you get something like this:



Also started on some other dents:







In the stash of parts a fellow enthusiast gave me, I found a new boot (trunk) catch:



Finally got around the replacing the faded and cracked rear light lenses too:

It's an awesome tool!

Wheelarch repair is ongoing, with JB weld added to fill the holes and give the structure some strength again:



The dent pullet removed the last of the major dents, in the front valence:



I had to remove some boot trims to do some work and decided to try and clean them up. The side trims need new backing hardboard which is on the list to do but I was concerned that some of the marks wouldn't wash out. We have a great all purpose cleaner here sold in dollar stores called 'Totally Awesome Cleaner!' and it is. It cleans virtually everything including grease and grime.

Here is the rear boot door trim before cleaning, I was worried the black mark was permanent.



A spray of TAC, leave it work a few minutes then a scrub with a stiff brush:



Like new!

Rear wing repair is coming along very well, my brother isn't happy 100% with it but I'm ecstatic:

Finally, the front wing dent is ready for top coat.

My dad has finally put a number of cars in his collection up too!

My brother managed to finish his mini project before he left, and the rear wheelarch and wing are looking much, much better






The mixed up aerosol can cost $25 and didn't last long so we only got 2 coats on. It stands out compared to the rest of the wing because the wing itself was repainted the wrong shade at some point. I'm not bothered about cutting it back and shining it up because the whole car will have to be repainted once I've repaired all the little dings and rust spots. For now it looks good and is protected.

A very productive few weeks!

Well, It's been a while. Like many others I didn't realise the site was back online. I will try and update as much as possible. Since the last update not much was done to the car except enjoy it. We had a very hot summer out here in 2022 and without air conditioning it meant weekend early morning drives were the only ones that were enjoyable. I did have it parked outside a Harry Potter themed house for Halloween...




This was the first photo I took after winter hibernation 2022/23. And sods law right after this, a core plug started leaking! It was one on the rear of the block behind the bellhousing and the leak wasnt too serious. Given that I'd planned to remove the engine and box at the end of the year anyway, I just carried a bottle of coolant around with me whenever I used it.



I didn't do any mechanical or bodywork this last summer and basically decided to enjoy the car instead, as we had a lot of other things going on. I doubled up at a car show, taking my 1963 Fox kart with McCulloh engine on it. It just about fits in the back!

I got the read end underside painted when I removed the axle. I finally got to do the remainder of the floor, thanks to having access to a fiends lift which made it incredibly easier.

The missing parts are being painted this winter now the engine and gearbox are out.

I also did 2 shows this summer. One was an impromtu meetup with a fellow owner in town, and a friend from Iowa who has an estate that has had a v8 fitted in it!





I borrowed a trailer from my boss to go to a show. It has a 20ft bed, weights double what the Anglia weighs and makes it look ridiculous!

I got the engine out in October. Here is the leaking core plug:



Clearly it has been out before



The dirt and oil was piled on, and I am still cleaning it!



But is has preserved everything very well:

Very late, but here is what has been done since the last post.

Engine and gearbox repainted, new seals etc.





Engine bay cleaned. All suspension & hardware removed, painted and rebuilt with new bushes *top mounts
