I've seen the Dacia pickup that was 12 based, but it had the front chassis legs extended to form a ladder chassis as BMC did when they made commercial variants of the Minor, the Dacia was also avalable as a 4x4 but the default was RWD. I looked at one when I was in about at a 1310 Estate once, removing some of the Romanian strengthening parts to go on my 12 Estate, sump shield (>16swg and saved my sump many times over), tombstone seats, centre console that included a means of draining the rain water out of the glove hole, oil bath air filter (ditched when the 17 Gordini engine and Trafic gearbox went in) and a GRP guard for the gear selector rods that tended to fall apart on French 12s.
Best bit about the Dacia pickup (wondering if that one is similar like this) was the way they left out the drive to the front hubs in the RWD only versions: They didn't fit the driveshafts and removed the pinion from the transaxle, then they fitted covers to the holes where the shafts would have been, with a splined bar between these covers to prevent the remaining bits of the diff from working.
Would that French one be such a lash up? Can't imagine French mech & prod engineers cutting corners, can you?

I wonder, would it be possible to fit the 4x4 bits to an automatic R12 Break? That would come straight in at number eight in my top fifty list of dream cars, so causing the MG Maxi concept car to fall by one place.
Cheers mate, that pickup couldn't turn me on more if Anna were sat, nekkit, on the bonnet with a Lancia Y10 grill badge to hide her private area, and maybe a Dolomite rear pillar "D" badge on each udder?

To be fair John, the door would be a better fit if it was leaning on the wall in next-doors garage.
