That's what happens when you drop something green on your head.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

WHS, a four cylinder engine will come to rest in one of two positions, 180 deg. apart, so it needs to be moved to either 60 or 90 deg. from the original position.

Got it to bits & cannot move the flywheel through quater turn as there is a dowel
ring gear is worn out in 2 places but the clutch plate etc is in good condition. im trying to get away with just changing the ring gear but no one seems to sell them! ive had a look online & a flywheel kit is €500+.. ebay sells this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360531776911? ... #vi-ilComp
so i will probably get this when i come back to blighty in a few days time.. will post pics later
on the plus side daughter no3 was supervising this afternoon from her pram

Could you build up the missing teeth with weld and grind it back to the correct shape? I have seen that done to a tractor.

Re: iveco
That may not work, on my Matra the flywheel is also held on by six bolts, but they are unevenly spaced, so the flywheel will only fit in one position. I think BL E series engines are similar, but it's a long time since I worked one.

Also check that the crank sensor doesn't run off the flywheel, otherwise if you move it the engine won't run.
