The leading edge of the inner wing where the outer wing fastens was perferated for much of it's length - the wing beading being mainly to blame as this was a fabric type which had retained moisture - hence the rot

Note the marking of the captive nut centres that retain the outer wing bolts

The areas were cut out in sections to help avoid any distortion whilst replacing the sections

I made up the repair sections and carefully marked / drilled the holes for the outer wing mounting - a captive nut was then spot welded to the repair section prior to it being welded in situ

Poor repairs to bumper mountings had been undertaken previously but are hidden in the corners of the tool tray within the boot of the car

Which makes it very hard to access the said areas

The support / upstand panel for the tool tray was also suffering with rust and poor previous repairs on the leading edge of the tool tray floor

It will be easier to repair the upstand panel with it off the car so the spot welds were drilled out and the panel removed

The side closing panel to the tool tray was also removed once the welds had been unpicked

The rotten sections could now be removed
