I have removed a car's interior and then pressure washed the carpets, stripped
the seats of foam and covers then bunged them through the washing machine
with all the strong detergents. That mondeo was immaculate inside when I had
finished, shame I can't do the same with the neon!

Best of luck with that Renault.

Rich, if you filled your galaxy with muddy water mixed with raw sewage, would you want it fixed or replaced?

A guy I worked with 4/5 years ago, had a brand new people carrier stolen from him in a house burglary. It was recovered a week later and sent to a garage. The interior was ruined, every panel dented, etc. The insurance company said it was worth repairing but he wanted it replaced. Following the assessor's visit, The garage found that "the car had a cracked sump and had been run with no engine oil" which pushed the repair cost over the threshold for writing it off.

If you are friendly with the garage, they can normally argue with the insurers to get you what you want. I would suggest that it suddenly acquires a cracked head or a twisted crank following water injection. ;)
