Fuzz, have you checked the "classic friendly" section of the forum? My own recommendation is
HERE It goes without saying that I'm just a satisfied customer having taken my Triumphs there in the past. One of the MoT testers is an MG enthusiast so he knows his onions.
Good luck!

As far as MOT testing (as well as classic car feddling), i'd recommend
Earls Colne Service Centre
The Barn Garage,

I've known Mike for over a decade, used to be the head mech at the local Jeep Stealership, and has been a petrolhead for even longer (is currently also pitcrew for an amateur Beemer racer at weekends) . Knows his stuff and has always been helpful and willing to go out of his way.
Except for me at MOT time! Fails my YJ (and a recent XJ) every pigging year!

But always for a good reason, and always helps me find the best solution. Strangely enough i actually respect him more for that.
While you're there you can check his business partners various classic (70's and earlier) dirt bikes.

Here are a couple I can heartily recommend;
Garage/workshop facilities -
http://www.rcmr.co.uk/
These guys are top notch and the only place I trust with my Rapier. They can do almost anything and have a very good reputation in the local (Yeovil) area.
And this guy is very good with engines, he's my Weber doctor. Has rolling road facilities too.

Cheers Rob,
That's exactly what we're looking for.
Knowledgeable, supportive businesses, ready to help us persue our hobby well into the 21st century...

They like cake too, turning up with a home made one is guaranteed to get A1+ service
As for the Classics gallery, that's just a couple, the office walls are covered, oddly none are mine...

These people don't have a website - Llangynidr Service Station, Forge Rd, Llangynidr, Crickhowell, Powys, NP8 1LU Tel: 01874 730234 - but there is always at least one classic car there and the proprietors own some themselves.
I am also contacting the place, who do my MOTS, to see if they are interested. They have a Frogeye Sprite, and MGA Mk2 and a Healey 100/6. They may still have a couple of old British motorcycles.

Hi Fuzz
My local garage does not have a website but here are their details
Traquair Road Garage.
Very classic friendly. I take my cars there for MOT every year and for any work that I can't handle at home. They have a stack of classic cars, mostly Morris Minor derivatives, around the back of the workshop and staff who remember working on this age of car first time around.

Unfortunately some thieving scroat decided to nick a large chunk of their tools the other night.
However they are still open and in business.
