i couldnt cut up a perfectly good micra, that would be just wrong, now ferraris i could quite happily use for banger racing :twisted: :lol:
as for french bureaucracy, they have almost made it into an art form.... where is a smiley banging his head against a wall when you need one

Well there's a bloke in my village who'll take a Transit load of rubble and dump it in someone else's garden at 3 in the morning, I'm told he'll do this for fifty quid. That cheap enough? :mrgreen:

ive got lots of rubbish here, ive already shifted around 150 tons :D
old iveco was a good old bus but in need of a lot of money spending.. will not buy another as i refuse to be robbed by iveco for paperwork..

bought a scabby 2002 ex council transit tipper2.4...its very yellow :lol: bought a service kit for it do i need glow plugs too??

IF this engine has them then no, I'd leave well alone as you need to remove the inlet manifold to get at the plugs on Duratorque 2.4s where they're fitted and the manifold is made from a type of special cheap Ford plastic that turns brittle with age.

But it's likely that there aren't any fitted so either way, if it starts well, leave it alone. Those manifolds aren't cheap and even the Ford commercial specialists don't always get them off intact.

cheers john, im in the middle of an overdue service, 20,000+ miles since the last one!! oil all over the garage floor, filters fitted etc, just need to steam clean it & try & treat the rust & get the beacons flashing :D :D
any ideas where i can get a decent seat squab?

The world isn't too short of specialist Transit breakers so unless you live near "Seat Squabs 'R' Us", one of those breakers would probably be best, especially as many of them seem to sell bits through eBay these days.

almost finished the oil change but the engine capacity is nearly 7 litres... only bought 5l of 5/30 semi synthetic..... bit of a rush last week. would fully synthetic be ok?? ive never been sure about that & i always try & stick to mineral oil after watching an self destruct due to synthetic... all advice is apreciated :D

I use fully synthetic in my 2.0 tdci focus (smaller version of the engine in your tranny) and it hasn't blown up yet.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.
