Yes indeed I remember :oops: that's why we sold my wifes BX, she always compained it was hard to steer but I hardly used it so did't really believe her untill our son in law, who is a man mountain, borrowed the car. His retort of " how can you let her drive a car with steering like that" rather clinched things :!:
Getting back to the question - there is a LDV forum and some old posts on there deal with the conversion to PS. The few who have tackled the job talk of rusted in steering boxes and differing mounting hole sizes for the box being the main problem areas but it looks as though it can be done if you are stil able to source parts from breakers.
I would have thought any " new kit system" would be more than the van is worth - no offence intended - so canabilising from a dead van would seem to be the sensible route :lol:

The box is on the inside of the chassis, and goes to the outside where the drop arm is through a tight fitting tube, and IIRC, that's where the problem lies.
Currently over 35 years worth of fixing 35 boxes.
Hoping to reach 65 years worth of fixing 65 boxes.

I'm sure that's what thy mean. Given that it's a Dutch company, it's understandable that a little bit of the message gets lost in translation. As I said before, the reports on an MG forum that I use are 100% positive.
