You can also tow a trailer provided the combined MAM of the towing vehicle and trailer is not more than 3500kg and the laden trailer weighs no more than the unladen weight of the towing vehicle.

if it costs that much to get an ordinary trailer licence why not get a full hgv? its always another job option..

Any caravan large enough for a family will weigh more than 750kg. My old 14 foot van weighed 800kg, my current 18.5 foot weighs 1150kg.
You could get one of those camper trailers that unfold and have canvas sides. A few mates have them but I don't like them much. All that flapping canvas and setup hassles, you might as well have a tent IMHO.
