The SAAB was a Glover mobile. I say was, cos it recently died. Still it wasn't much of a shame as it cost his parents just £1 two years ago, and had covered the best part of 400,000 miles. The Golf belongs to CCW's Matt George, it recently sold at Anglia Car auctions so that's gone too (i assume Matt was behind the camera when this shot was taken...)

Wow! 400k miles

.When I see or hear anything about a saab, my ears perk up

.Thats why I like reading about work being done on your two Saabs,Neil. I used to have a 9-5 ( not a classic yet, I know) and..............................................................................
I don't want to talk about it anymore

In the Allegro how many left item you suggest the Convertible is an anomaly, but they did make a Convertible version. Also could the 1.7s be engine swaps?

The Allegro convertible wasn't an in-house job, but an aftermarket conversion. I'm sure that a board regular (Mr Rusty perhaps?) used to own one so maybe he'll confirm who actually did build these things.
As they weren't convertibles at the time of build, the commission plates would presumably have had them down as 2 door saloons.

I believe they were done by Crayfords on behalf of Spikins. I think there was one on ebay last year, and I'll lay odds it's on the v5 as a convertible.

Yep, Mr. Rusty had one as a young dude, he posted a very calming picture of it a while back.
As above, IIRC they were done by Crayford I think.
