breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

People actually do own vintage items other than cars. Believe it or not, amongst other things, caravans are really very popular.

I just knew that there was something about you that struck an empathy.
Now you have gone and ruined it.(Apart from the SLK)

I've asked the seller for an English version of the description that came with the CF, that Clio actually looks great, especially the interior and that's the sort of thing I've been known to buy on a whim.
However, nice though it is, it's still a Clio. As a thank you for posting the Clio, have a look at this beauty:

No you don't. The idea of a vintage caravan on the back of a vintage car is for the pose. You don't actually live in the thing. Glampingfor caravaners is this, or staying nearby in a decent hotel.

John, I've seen that caravan at some show or other. A Doctor Who box it ain't. Put it this way, if it was a loo, you would have to drop your pants and go in backwards to take a dump.

Sounds much the same as my default technique! I mean to say, if you were to go in forwards then you'd have to watch your footing very carefully on the way out..

:|

But, as a thing to pull into the show field behind a jalopy of similar period, that does catch my eye and it's got to be both bigger inside and less scary to drive than a Tandy Fox camper, itself a masterpiece of packaging but the only time I've driven one any distance, the wind was serious about its work and I was grateful for the Fox's vinyl upholstery, which allowed evidence of my state of distress to be hosed out onto the road before I delivered the van to its new forever home (if that sort of patter is good enough for animal charities, then it's good enough for me..). I'd actually quite like a Sprite Ariel, 400 or Cadet to tug along behind the daily motor as it needs a light van, seeing as Yamaha saw fit to endow the Liftback's engine with no great absence of power at the north end of the rev counter  , but less torque than a moped low down :( .
I also like the Portafold and its close relation the Anusfold, GRP monocoque vans that are clever, warm and sometimes even dry. I once came close to buying a Portafold but I joined the owners' forum and was put off for life.

That would be ideal if it had a Sprite Musketeer attached.
