Stolen Classic

This theft happened back in Jan but this is a very rare vehicle one of just a handfull - it belonged to one of my fellow members of the Jowett Car Club - it is something that none of us would like to ever happen to ourselves - the vehicle was in a secure garage and so dertmined were the thieves that they moved a heavy engine from behind it in order to steal the said vehicle. I have copied the posting from the Jowett Owners Club Forum and link to a article on the car done by the 'Automobile' with images - (with apologies PC - but needs must) - should you hear of anything on the grapevine please could you make contact with the police as detailed below

Jowett Short Two Stolen - keep your eyes open (the car is a two seat 1924 small tourer)

January 10th 2011 between 00.30 and 2.30 the Short Two of Roy Flower was stolen after a break in. It is Maroon, registration NE 5890.

Please keep your eyes and ears attentive and report to the West Midlands police on 0345 113 5000 (Reference 20-SW-6923K-11) of any sighting.

Thanks Luxo - what we are hoping is that becuase of it's rarity - that it will eventally turn up either whole or in bits (but lets not hope for the latter) the Jowett club members are fairly tight knit so they tend to know what has come from where and exactly what it fits - unfortunatly the insurance company has now paid the owner out on this car - but it would be great to see it recovered and the ar**wipes who stole it in the first place shot - (just my opinion)

What I’d like to do with them would be illegal. So far as the law is concerned, I feel that crimes should all attract points (Murder getting the maximum) and once you hit the maximum, you are treated like a murderer (And if ever they brought back hanging, I wouldn't alter my views, though that is another issue entirely).

I wouldn’t be surprised some of these fiends are attending events and following people home. We all need to try and look out for this (I know a few MGCs have gone missing of late). I also try not to have my garage door open more than I need. I know it happens in the bike scene. One of our customers was followed home from an event and that night, his garage/shed was broken into and the bike was taken. Luckily, a number of weeks later, the Police contacted us and said they had recovered one of our bikes. I rang the customer with the good news .

quite simple cure for all crime, castrate everyone on their first day in prison.. would you steal anything ??
& those that do are taken out of the gene pool.

Don't start me off, m8. My local area has a series of habitual criminals, mostly into trailer and farm equipment theft, and time and time again they get off in court despite being caught everywhere with stolen trailers, tractors and plant. A group of local farmers caught them one night stealing a horse trailer and gave them a terrific hiding, and for some strange reason they declined to make any complaints. They're currently on curfew which just means they thieve from 8am to 10pm instead.
Another criminal seven miles from me has been caught twice stealing and breaking high-performance cars; while still on bail for the last set of offences he was caught again earlier this week breaking stolen Subarus and selling the parts.
I have to put it in writing here: it's NOT the fault of the Police who are doing sterling work against these guys but the fault of the courts who continue to release them on bail, and give them suspended sentences which they fail to implement later on when other offences are before the court.

Stealing parts from scooby doos?

Bloke who did that to ours - looked trustable enough, next day his place is raided by the rozzers and he's halfway through randomly removing our propshaft.... And it was the 50+ time he'd done something like that too!
