Best motor bike in the world.

#1 Post by History »

The Honda C90 cub is often put forward. But IMO the Honda CG 125 is better. I have had a few of these and they were very reliable and it doesn't get any cheaper. Unless one favours the C90.

+1.

Though if anyone has a C90 and they're sick of looking at it but don't want to pay the breaker to take it away, may I volunteer my services to save it from the crusher? 8-)
Naturally, I also have to mention the Quasar, since it has a proper engine, a roof and a reverse gear.

My Dad brought a new Honda 50 in 1964 it got used for everything. From going to work to carrying coal and shopping. I had a used C90 it survived my apprenticeship. Then the bike to have was a Bonnieville. So mates took the Mick. But I always got to where we were going without a breakdown. And the lights always worked.
The CG 125 is just as robust.

My own opinion is that it has to be the Honda Cub, be it in 50, 70, or 90cc guises.

Having said that, a lot depends on what the owner wants to the use the bike for.

id go with the ever popular cb/cg 125 as they are still getting produced in a different guise now.
I have a cb125s (1977) which was my first bike, bought for me when i was 14!

the c90's were a classic design tho to be fair

These are really the best functional motorised two wheeled objects, surely, rather than the best motor bike in the world? That being the case, I'd agree with the Cub. Drove tousands of miles on a C90 as a young man.

ImageIf functionality is our main criterion, then I'm getting behind the Quasar - as mentioned earlier - for the title. Function with comfort too, riding one is like sitting in your favourite armchair, but without that awful smell that dates back to the time the dog wasn't well.

It's difficult to say what makes a chosen example the best bike in the world

Some will say the Quasar because it has a roof and reverse gear.

Some will go on how fast or handling.

For sheer engineering brilliance, the Sunbeam S7 is my winner.
