breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

MANY years ago I had a clio Williams and have had girlfriends with MK1, and 2 clios. The Williams and 1.8 mk1 were serious fun to drive, the MK2 was an average city car. Other than the requirement to remove the front bumper on a MK2 to replace a headlamp bulb (most stupid design ever!) I don't really have anything to say about them. They aren't very well made and the plastics are cheap but then so are the cars.
More importantly, if you were to buy and fix the Matra I bet you won't be able to take it to a filling station without someone wanting to talk to you about it. Go to fill up the Clio and people will stay away in case some trim falls off and hits them ;)

Are you planning a low budget james bond remake?
If you fancy moving back to the UK and you can weld, i'll give your CV to our factory manager as he is always looking for new staff.

Driving a Matra in France is great. People wave, flash their lights (confusing because you wonder if there's a speed trap round the corner :) )and take photos. Over here most people don't know what it is, mine has been mistaken for a TVR, a Fiat, TR7 and the best one, on account of the three seats, a Maclaren F1. Terry, you missed a great opportunity recently, there was a Murena 2.2S for sale in Rocester, the one on the Club stand in 2013 and one of the best around.

It would be worth going to get that granny for €1. Shame it's another Friday afternoon car with the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Woah! I never knew that the white hen was available in a 4wd version. That's almost desirable.

Edited: LoL! Phone asked "do you mean white hen?" and then went and changed it from Y10 anyway. I can't be fashed to argue with the dumb gadget.
