breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Link works fine with and without the tracking information in the programs I listed before.
I'm assuming you are using a flavour of Linux for testing? I only have Windows 7 to hand so the security is rather different. Have you had a go with the windows version of one of the browsers in WINE?

Le alcoholic beverages. Personally I don't partake but I believe they are quite popular.

I can't be bothered with typing the answer all over again, but it'll be cached somewhere as it was only posted last night around this time then taken down but yes, tried in a 7 VB and under Wine, no difference in any browser from the three I mentioned, four if you count the Google version of Chromium. Presumably this is a result of eBay's current glitch involving links on other sites?
Screen grab will be taken after sending this post. Again.

Have you got some weird anti-virus app loaded? My windows machines run Microsoft Security Essentials / Defender / Sophos depending which particular one I am sitting at and my Linux kit runs without because I'm hard that way ;)
I think ebay are restricting redirection / links within the site rather than links in to the site but I could be wrong.
If you want to try something completely unrelated, how about trying the link on your tablet / smartphone. if it is still blocked I would say its related to your ISP.

Anti-Virus?   I use the firewall on all of my devices and all regular locations including my homes have hardware firewalls too. I've had no troubles since I ditched Windows all these years ago. I did check for any unauthorised activity - using Clam and a whole raft of pen test software, sometimes needed when I'm doing my voluntary security work for the organisation whose election campaign I'm involved with - but this showed up no issues and besides, none of these basic security measures have changed in quite some time.
It can't be an ISP thing because the same things have been going on with several different ISPs, my (Edge, no 3G connection unless I head West toward Glasgow) mobile connection on the Android device and Heather's Macbook. But besides, no ISP-related glitch would explain how a series of legitimate replies in threads have vanished even if that would otherwise explain the eBay link thing that ultimately doesn't matter much.

John / Rich, if you are on farcebook and were to join the group "‎Classic Car Scrapyard finds" you will see a K10 automatic with 55k on the clock being offered up as it has a blown box. If you fancy getting busy with the spanners it could be a nice daily.
