We have been busy with a number of the staff members at PC for several months (For 'we' read myself and a few of my fellow members of the Jowett Car Club) I have kept it under wraps until it came to press so that it did not spoil the story line. Pages 108 & 109 of the September Issue reveals all - but basically Neil & Sam are now joint owners of a Jowett Javelin project. Danny, Sam & Neil had drooled over our fleet of Javelins that we had at Goodwood Revival last year - we formed part of the period taxi fleet for the event and ran invited guests / VIP's around the various venues. Occasionally within the club we take a call from a former member / family of a former member or just someone that has a Jowett and would like to see it go to a good home. Having already successfully placed a Javelin project with Leeds City College for their Classic Car Restoration courses, when another appeared late last year we hatched a plan and a call was made to Danny, so a few months ago we headed to Halifax to unearth said project - we had already viewed it but this was the first time that Neil & Sam had sight of it - its a pretty solid thing having had significant work undertaken on it by its late owner but I shall let you read up on it.
Of recent weeks we have paid a visit to the vehicle repository empire of a certain Mr Glover and undertaken a 4 cylinder Jowett engine autopsy - which I believe appears in the October issue. I have loads of pics and will upload them when I get a min - again I will wait until the engine autopsy goes to press before posting the images.
All in the name of Jowetts - being a small club we need to remain very active on the public relations / press front - unlike the clubs with larger memberships we cannot afford to advertise - we are consistently considering fresh ideas for membership recruitment and without the help of the guys at PC it would be extremely difficult.

A shame Neil didn't swing by my place to drool over my Dolomite (I know he's a sucker for Canley iron). I've also discovered a Stag round the corner from where I live. It would've made Neil's day complete. I would've loved to have got involved as I'm Bradford born like these cars.

It just goes to prove that its quite a small world out thereI rebuilt the back brakes and axle on the LCC Jowett!

Any time you need some Jowett therapy just let me know - it can be quickly organisedI would've loved to have got involved as I'm Bradford born like these cars.

(Strangely enough its the Yorkshire connection that hooked me to Jowetts, I have always had a passion for the classic & vintage scene - even before I passed my driving test but when a Jowett came along purely by accident - that was it 'hooked' - I was born a few towns down the road from where they were built)
