breakdown truck

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Why not?
Get the biggest engine you can and shoe horn it in. That particular car needs enough torque to demolish a house.
Understeer: when you hit the wall with the front of the car.
Oversteer: when you hit the wall with the back of the car.
Horsepower: how fast you hit the wall.
Torque: how far you take the wall with you.

Ah so that's whats's he selling for 500 euros - my understanding of French being so bad that I didn't know if it was:

1- A pile of rust in a woodland setting
2 - A framed picture of wide arched escort
3 - A couple of hours with the leggy lady on the bonnet of the escort
1937 Jowett 8 - Project - in less pieces than the Jupiter
1943 Jowett Stationary Engine
1952 Jowett Jupiter - In lots of peices http://Jowett.org/
1952 Jowett Javelin - Largely original
1973 Rover P6 V8 - Original / 22,000 miles

That's too bad, Rich, but around these parts that sort of cash would get you a whole week of her undivided attention. OK, so for that she'd have ten breasts and be covered in wool, but if you wanted an Escort she'd steal one for you.
