Nice area - I used to live in Bedale (and at one time rented a house in Horsehouse) but now live somewhere a whole lot less scenic (Abu Dhabi!).

I've never been to Yorkshire (Been up the west side of England) but it's on my to do list. I want to see http://www.nymr.co.uk/ & http://www.kwvr.co.uk/ is said to be good. I'd also like to see http://www.malhamdale.com/cove.htm and Gaping Gill.

I've seen quite a bit of Yorkshire scenery on Last of the Summer Wine and it looks great; some of it is not unlike what we have locally.

Stephen

You are very lucky, we have just got back from five days just outside of Masham

We spend a lot of time up in the Dales, Redmires is gradely

Martin, you are right the Dales are similar to Wales, you need to get your self up, if you watch the first day of the TdF you will see some really nice places, the local villages along the route are getting in to the swing of things
