I think a lot depends on where you live. After a head-on collision (see my post in "Ford Galaxy") the other driver legged it from the scene. The police turned up very quickly and went after him. They were prepared to use the dogs, although this wasn't necessary, they went round and knocked on his door and from the state of his face it was quite obvious he had been in a collision. He was prosecuted for due care and attention and failing to stop. No complaints about the Suffolk Constabulary.

Yes VW Camper....what a top bit of viewing.

Another success in having me blubbing at the end of the show like a big girl!

What a laugh that Tim is, he just knows when to back off when he is starting to irritate Fuzz, a great tv duo, the ad libs are all genuine and spontaneous from all involved including "workshop Phil". .

I did enjoy seeing the can of Coco from 1981 and the 1970s Ginger Beer - I hope they remained with the van (along with the potty of course ;) ).

What ever arrived with the camper went back with it......except for the rust etc. From when we finally got our hands on it and it went onto the trailer was 16 hours!!! We put the suspension on before it went in the spray booth but the interior and engine was still in boxes or on the bench.

I must admit I had a touch of the 'sniffles' when I saw Brian and Colleen. It's fantastic when you see that reaction and such a worthy cause. Brian is a really really nice genuine guy. It made up for the clouded over sunset and sunrise!

Brought back memories, we had one for a while. As kids we used to like hiding in the storage space in the boot (only visible when the tail gate was open). My brother was in there when we were being driven to school one day...until he managed to release the door lock and fell out onto the road! Fortunately we weren't going (too) fast...

I wish that someone could make these available on torrents - we couldn't get ep2 or either of the last 2.

It did look rather special when it was finished. I thought Fuzz gave Tim the potty to wear as a hat in future episodes ;)

Just watched the VW episode, another great job. The only thing I'd ask is why change the lovely original reflective riveted number plates for those black and silver ones?

The number plates needed replacing because they were a bit tatty and it is a pre '73 registered VW. I think there is a photograph of it with the black & silver plates on it.

The body took a lot of work to get it that straight. The engine ran beautifully once we had the new exhaust on and the carb had been cleaned. The suspension was dropped by one spline at the rear to get it to sit level. That folding roof is unbelievably heavy. Once it had been cleaned with Mr Muscle and steam cleaned the candy striped folding sides on the roof looked like new. All the interior was scrubbed down and a new floor covering cut and fitted. The seats were amazing when they came back. A really enjoyable restoration and so appreciated by Brian when he got it back.

Next week it's the Escort RS1600i. Typical of a Ford of the period!! Superb engine that went like the clappers but the rest of it...........oh dear.
