Or you could do the logical thing and take Luxo's advice. These Volvos are just so cheap nowadays, bargainous in the extreme they are and everyone would immediately think that you're straight if you drive one. As long as it's not white, white cars are for girls and polises.

or you could get it now and then you have a while to work out the wiring to get the engine from a Focus ST in there

It is surprising what percentage of 4x4s seem to survive compared to "normal" cars. I suppose it is because people think they are useful in the winter so are more willing to spend some money keeping them on the road.
