Please remember the Clocks go back on sunday.

Got something to say, but it's not classic related? Here's the place to discuss. Also includes the once ever-so-popular word association thread... (although we've had to start from scratch with it - sorry!)

Please remember the Clocks go back on sunday.

Yes it's that time of the year again!

The clocks go back on sunday morning, so an extra hour in bed!
Considering what the weather forecast is for the weekend thats
an extra hour in a nice warm and snug bed out of the snow and
icy blast!

People it also means it's time to order the Christmas cake and the
good cheese direct from the dairies to arrive just before Christmas.

Your other have might appreciate you getting one or two things
ordered now, rather than you or them having to traipsing around in
the crush that will be developing in the shops.

As for some reason everybody who never usually eats or buys
Wensleydale cheese, suddenly buys up all the stock on the shops!

From what I understand it's prity big over there in the states at
Christmas too!

Bah humbug

I have to get my Crumbly Lancashire couriered up by relatives all year round, can't even get a proper meat an tatoe pie so readily either, special order from a local bakery only :(

Still, as the last minute Xmas rush in Thurso consists of a queue of about five cars at the lights when getting off the tesco car park on crimbo eve i think i can rest easy on the shopping for a bit ;)

Does anyone else think that the clocks should go on sooner :?: We are roughly five weeks after the September Equinox, before going back to GMT (Which I reckon is about right) but in Spring, we have to wait until a week or so after the Equinox, before we get the benefit of lighter evenings (Before the wet weather kicks in  ). That would be like the clocks going back in mid September. I think we could at least put the clocks on at the beginning of March, rather than at the end (We are usually over the worst of the cold mornings by then) :?: Ofcourse, what works down here in the south, may not work up north.....Arceye, would it work for you :?:

Even better, leave them at GMT +1 all the time.

Same as the rest of Europe would suit me, I object to losing an hour when I go on holiday and gaining it when I get back! I'd rather have the extra hour over there! :D
