Thanks...
I want to make sure that I have replacenments ready ...

Stupid question
Yes, I know it's a stupid question, but what is the bolt size for an MG Midget 1500 Anti Roll bar mounting?
I stupidly snapped one at the weekend trying to replace the bushes and now need to get the stud extractor on it and replace it...

Just for once in my life I was in the right place at the right time.... :D
It's the Zodiac that's costing me a fortune.
The trouble is, all the time I was 'fettling' the MG, I could put off working on the Zody.
now I have no excuse for not getting that ...

Re: Ok, So what Now
Cooling can be a problem with the 1500 (Not surprising when you consider that the bumper covers most of the opening and the number plate much of the rest!!). Moving the number plate and fitting an oil cooler, is a great help to these cars. 165/70 tyres work well too. A very enjoyable and easy car ...

Re: Ok, So what Now
Thanks for the info Martin.
This is the £3 Midget.
That was the pruchase price, from a former work colleague.
He'd been restoring it since 1998 and three years ago his wife got fed up and demanded that it vacated the garage to allow for the litchen white goods to go in there.
I jokingly offered him ...

Re: Ok, So what Now
I'm doing that already, and it's a great little car.
Strangely, my wife decided, after just one trip in the car, that she wanted a roof and airbags....

Ok, So what Now
Well,
Having finally got the £3 Midget into a fully running and MOT'd state, what meets, clubs etc are around in the SE London N Kent area?
It's take so long to get drivable that I don't want it just to sit in the garage doing nothing....

Re: Have you got a modified classic car remember the EU thre
And I don't recall that the original press release actually stated that would be the case.
If you look on the ACE website, you'll see that nowhere does it state that a 'Ban' was imminent.
The 'Mainstream' press were the ones who started using the word Ban and, to be honest, that had a positive ...

Re: Have you got a modified classic car remember the EU thre
That was never a threat, the story was just journalists whipping up sensationalism. What was being proposed was the exemption of historic vehicles from a proposed new pan-European roadworthiness regulation. Modified vehicles would not be banned, simply subjected to the same test regime as modern ...
