Re: Post pictures of your pride and joy

Here's some of mine:

This one always puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it.

Not riden this for a couple of years. Just need to sort the exhaust out behind the collector box:

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

good luck, is it not as bad as the pc resto car??

Nowhere near as bad. I also plan to get it solid underneath and reliable to run (at least initially). Will have to sort the rear valance and the front wheel arches for the MOT man. Underneath will need rear jacking points and rear quarters on the ...

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

Thinking I might go for the CJ Auto's one. I will also be able to use it on my Ascona 400 snd then either rent it out or sell it on. Will go to the NEC middle of Nov and have a look.

The other option is to drop the front subframe, engine and box out but that doesn't fit with the do it in a week ...

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

We have been thinking that maybe a body roller would be more appropriate for what we want to do. I can find a choice of 2:

The one supplied by CJ Autos looks like its the tool to have, but serious money:

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

Good luck with this project - although I live in Derby (Mickleover), the limit of my ability is in making the tea :D

Sorry I have no mechanical knowledge or experience and can't think of anyone who could help - but I hope you get the support you need and I look forward to seeing photos of how ...

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

Fantastic car, great approach to its preservation. I wish that I were closer as I could fix you up with workspace, a four poster with wheelfrees, an English wheel - in case you need to make any panels - and some extra labour.

:D

You sound like the kind of man I want to live near to! I am sure ...

Re: Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

Got most of the skills I need to do it (just don't have time generally), and plenty of friends with specialist skills that will help so it should be a good fun. We have been toying with the idea of using a CJ Autos body roller instead of a ramp/2 post lift. At £950 they are a bit steep but would ...

Daimler V8 250 Barn Find

Not really a barn find as it was never lost and it’s not in a barn.....
This Daimler has been parked for the best part of 30+ years. Most of its life has been in my Dad’s garage with a short stay of a few years in my Nanna’s garage and a garage up the road from my parent’s house.
I have a few ...
